New rules for teacher transfers and promotions announced, will directly affect 2 lakh teachers in the state
Gandhinagar: In the interest of teachers, the education department took a historic decision.  The Department of Education announced a new teacher transfer policy.  The word homeland has been removed from Aras Pars Badli.  Education Minister Jitu Waghan held a press conference on the issue.
Jeetu Waghan said that now instead of 40 per cent, 100 per cent vacancies will be filled.  The word homeland was removed from the teachers' purse exchange.
Three to four thousand transferred teachers will be dismissed with immediate effect.  Bonded teachers of 10 years can apply for transfer after five years.

 Waghan said the transferred teachers would be released immediately.  Three to four thousand teachers who have been transferred will benefit.  Bonded teachers of 10 years can apply for transfer after five years.  Granted in case of couple and also benefit in case of government public enterprises.  A grievance redressal committee will be formed for representations regarding the transfer of teachers.  Two lakh teachers will benefit from the new policy of the education department. 
 The rules will be implemented on an immediate basis after the completion of the administrative process.  Teachers who have relocated to another school will be able to apply to the original school if there is a vacancy in the original school.  Granted institutions will also benefit in the case of husband and wife.  A committee will be constituted for redressal of grievances in case of transfer. These rules have been promulgated with the consent of both the unions.

 He further said that the new policy of the education department will benefit 2 lakh teachers.  If there is a complaint regarding transfer, it will be submitted to the grievance redressal committee.  According to the new rule, only 100 per cent vacancies will be filled in the district.  The district reshuffle will benefit 100% instead of 40%.  The provision of homeland was removed in reciprocal transfer.  The transfer rules changed after 10 years.  In the case of the couple, the original school may be changed.
