About Samagra Shiksha Kerala The Union Budget, 2018-19, has proposed to treat school education holistically without segmentation from pre-nursery to Class 12. Samagra Shiksha, Kerala has been implementing several programems in order to enhance the quality of the school education. Kerala has achieved a human development index comparable to the developed countries of the World. These achievements are largely due to high literacy and education for a long time. Almost all children in the schooling age are reaching school and the retention level is very high. The government of Kerala has initiated a campaign with the active participation of the community, namely, Pothu-vidyabhyasa Samrakshana Yanjam ( in order to transform the government and aided schools of the state as centres of excellence providing equal opportunities to all children to attain equitable quality and all-round development.

The shift in the focus is from project objectives to improving systems level performance and schooling outcomes which will be the emphasis of the combined Scheme along-with incentivizing States towards improving quality of education.
