LOCAL BODY ELECTIONS DECLARED, 21ST FOR 6 MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS AND POLLING FOR NAGARPALIKA-PANCHAYATS ON 28TH FEBRUARY,
Local body elections declared, 21st for 6 Municipal Corporations and polling of Nagarpalika-Panchayats on 28th February, Code of Conduct implemented in the state from today
Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar Manpa elections For the last ten days, the BJP government has made a flurry of inaugurations, decisions and policy announcements. Political parties including BJP and Congress are also busy formulating strategies.
Given the Corona situation in Gujarat, the state's local body elections will be held in two phases.  In the first phase elections of Municipal Corporation and then Municipalities and Panchayats will be held.  Polling for 6 municipalities will be held on February 21 and counting of votes will take place on February 23.  Polling for 31 district panchayats and 231 taluka panchayats as well as 81 municipalities will be held on February 28.  The counting of votes will take place on March 2.

 Manpa results could affect panchayat and municipal elections
 Voting for the 6 municipalities will take place on February 21 and counting will take place on February 23.  So that the results of Manpa will be made public.  Which may affect the election of panchayats.

 Polling will be held on February 21 for 6 Municipal Corporations Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar.  Elections will also be held on two seats in Junagadh.
Preparations are currently underway by political parties for the local body elections.  In particular, the BJP has been taking a number of programs, inaugurations and policy decisions for the last ten days, along with the BJP and the Congress.

 Municipal elections will be held in the first phase and municipal and panchayat elections will be held in the second phase.  Consultations were held on the preparations to be made keeping in view the situation of Kovid, police staff, polling stations, election staff etc.
Local body elections are coming up in Gujarat after the by-elections of 8 assembly seats.  Preparations have been started by the political parties.

 Faceshields, masks and sanitizers will be arranged
 The State Election Commission (SEC) held video-conference review meetings with all district collectors on local body elections, as well as meetings with different departments of the government.  Will be given.  Sanitizers will be provided to voters at polling stations, with an emphasis on the need for sanitizers and masks.

 The Election Commission also met with the Health Department and the Home Department to review the election.  .
