Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Facebook that users will be able to edit their messages up to 15 minutes after sending them. The company said that this feature is being rolled out globally. A similar feature is already available on Apple's i-Message.
WhatsApp information portal BattleInfo reported in March that the instant messaging service was testing the feature in beta. This feature comes in handy if you make spelling mistakes or grammatical mistakes while sending messages.

Once the feature is available to you, to edit a message you just need to long press on it after which the 'Edit' option will appear.
Messages edited with the feature will have an 'Edit' feature next to the message. However there will be an edit message label. According to the company, there will be no edit history displayed.
WhatsApp has finally launched a new 'Edit Button' feature for all users. After the platform recently rolled out chat locking features, it has now rolled out another major update to the messaging app.
This is a useful feature as there is no need to delete the entire message anymore as the edit button will give you the opportunity to correct the phrase or words that were not correct while sending the message.

"We are excited that people will now have more control over their chats, such as correcting misspellings or adding more context to a message," WhatsApp said. For this, within 15 minutes of sending the message, you have to tap and hold the message for some time and then select the edit option from the menu. WhatsApp's new feature will save people from the embarrassment of sending a wrong message.
A time frame of 15 minutes is not too short. However, if you send a long message, it may take less time to edit the message. The company that owns Meta has revealed that it has started rolling out the new update to users but it will not be available to all users as the app is used by billions of users so it will take some time to reach all.

► Open WhatsApp and go to any chat
► Press a few times on the message sent by mistake
► Now you will get an edit message option on which you have to tap to change the text. After just doing this, your work will be done.
